Heather Wood, PA-C

Pioneers Medical Center

Heather Wood, PA-C offers care in both the Emergency Department and as the Chronic Disease Case Manager. Wood comes from a 860 bed hospital in Missouri, where she has been working in the Emergency and Urgent Care area. She is looking forward to practicing rural medicine where she can get to know her patients.

Her Philosophy: Wood believes in the value of relationship medicine, treating the patient, not the symptoms.

Medical Education: Masters in Physician Assistant Studies at Missouri State University. Wood has been a Certified Nurse Assistant and a Medical Assistant before completing her Physician Assistant work in 2014.

Tessa Landa, M.D

Dr. Tessa Landa recently completed her Residency in Family Medicine at St Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction. Throughout her residency, Dr. Landa cared for both acutely ill patients in the hospital as well as patients in the outpatient clinic setting. She is trained in General Internal Medicine, Pediatric Care and Women’s Health. Dr. Landa completed her Bachelors of Science in Human Nutrition at the University of Florida, followed by the Medicine MD Program at University of Florida College of Medicine.

Dr. Landa is a Florida native, but she feels a Coloradan at heart. It was her love of the mountains and snow that brought her to western Colorado. She has a passion for small town medicine so coming to Pioneers Medical Center in Meeker is a dream come true. The chance to build special relationships with patients is what brings her joy in practicing medicine. Dr. Landa enjoys cross country skiing, hiking, and horseback riding. Accompanying her in making Meeker their new home is her 10 month old daughter, Georgia, and their dog, Cooper.
