The Northwest Colorado Orthopaedic & Total Joint program will provide comprehensive orthopedic care, including general orthopedic and trauma surgery; sports injury repair; arthroscopic shoulder, knee and ankle procedures; specialized treatment for arthritis of the shoulders, knees and hips; and intervention for bone and joint injuries, including scopes for tears and fractures.
Fellowship-trained surgeon, Dr. Kevin Borchard, is specially-trained in advanced total joint replacements and
revisions, offering the latest techniques including SuperPath™ for hips and minimally invasive procedures for knees.
Minimally invasive surgical techniques allow for smaller incision sites, less tissue disruption, less pain & discomfort and faster healing.

Dr. Borchard was raised in Meeker, CO. He attended undergraduate and medical school at the University of Colorado and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery in San Antonio, TX, with the United States Air Force, after which is served four years on active duty.
After separating from the Air Force in June 2014, Dr. Borchard completed a fellowship in adult reconstruction of the hip and knee at the highly acclaimed New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, MA. He participated in more than 900 cases during his fellowship year while working with world-renowned surgeons. That fellowship emphasized the use of tried and true technical surgical skills, while also providing exposure to minimally invasive total joint replacement surgery of the hip and knee, revision replacement surgery of the hip and knee, total shoulder replacement, reverse shoulder replacement and newer technologies including navigation. Dr. Borchard’s broad experience has given him confidence for both routine joint replacement surgery as well as very complex cases.
