New Facility Timeline

Follow Our Progress:

2008 – First community Needs Assessment Survey conducted by Architectural Nexus to examine healthcare expectations and current facility.

2008-2011 – Pioneers’ Board of Directors focuses on financial readiness to either renovate or construct facility.

2011 – Second Needs Assessment Survey by American Health Facility Development further examined feasibility of remodeling the current facility and population demand for services and technology.

2012 – Due diligence done on various site options and financial plan created to fund a replacement facility.

August 2012 – Community survey examines public needs and gathers community input to prioritize healthcare needs and potential new services to be consider for new facility.

January 2013 – Meeker Terrace Property announced as the building site.

March 2013 – Colorado-based Haselden Construction selected as General Contractor for project.

August 2013 – A coalition of local entities announces partnership with the Colorado Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) that includes $825,000 grant to provide much-needed community infrastructure.

November 2013 – Extensive two-mile water and sewer extension project outlined to deliver robust water, sewer and fire suppression services to serve not only the new healthcare facilities but to support future commercial development north of Meeker.

December 2013 – Ducey’s Electric in Meeker, Encore Electric in Denver, Mtech in Denver and Falcon Plumbing in Grand Junction selected for subcontractor tasks related to electrical, mechanical and plumbing.

March 2014 – Groundbreaking ceremony on March 21, 2014, marks the start of construction of the new medical facility.
