Pioneers Medical Center is dedicated to delivering compassionate care that remains focused on what is best for the patient. Our skilled nurses, physicians and healthcare professionals hold themselves to a high level of accountability and are proud to individually know many of their patients from this close-knit community. Even visitors to the area are treated like family.
Such personalized care has been a cornerstone of Pioneers hospital throughout its 60-year history in Meeker, Colo. The medical center continues to employ 120+ professionals who are highly skilled and competent. Yet, doing what is best for the patient – and often our neighbor – includes understanding what care is best delivered locally and at what point specialty care is needed. Pioneers Medical Center’s long-standing relationships with regional facilities and specialty physicians along the Western Slope complement the array of care available at the hospital, Emergency Department, clinic and long-term care facility.

In one comprehensive program, Trails to Health provides an annual physical, blood tests, recommended health screenings and a supportive “medical home” to guide businesses and patients through establishing and maintaining personal health goals. The Trails to Health Program was specifically structured to be covered by wellness benefits offered through most insurance plans.

In addition, our well-respected long-term care residence known as the Walbridge Memorial Wing, named for the generous donations of Adelaide and Carl Walbridge, is available for adults requiring a home away from home.
Surgical Care & Outpatient Procedures
The Surgical Team at Pioneers Medical Center delivers an array of advanced surgical care performed by experienced professionals using the latest techniques and tools, including state-of-the-art surgical, orthopaedic and minimally invasive procedures. In addition, outpatient procedures like endoscopy; pain management injections; cardiac and pulmonary testing; and on-site infusion and oncology support are available.
Diagnostic testing allows physicians to detect problems, gather information to make better medical decisions, monitor disease progress or remission, and identify areas of concern while disease is preventable or most treatable.
