Pioneers Medical Center’s Advanced Orthopedics facility and Kevin Borchard, MD come together to offer cutting edge orthopedic care in our community. It’s our goal to help you regain the active lifestyle you desire by providing the most advanced methods in total joint surgery and orthopaedic care available today.

Dr. Kevin Borchard offers advanced skills in total joint care and has earned a fellowship in Adult Reconstructive Surgery from the New England Baptist Hospital, a premier provider for orthopaedic surgery and the treatment of musculoskeletal disease and disorders. He has completed over 900 complex cases with world-renowned surgeons, learning to provide the best results for patients with the least pain and shortest recovery times possible. His advanced skills include performing complicated repairs and revisions to prior surgeries and employing the latest techniques, including the Superior approach for hip replacement. He and his dedicated team offer unmatched expertise in the region for total joint surgeries, coupled with comprehensive care before, during and after surgery.

Our orthopaedic procedures are performed with the same clinical techniques, superb implant quality, high quality of surgical efficiency and surgeon academic training and background you would find in the largest of metropolitan hospitals. Our clinical outcomes are second to none. Coupled with small community caring and concern, we are confident you will be very pleased you sought orthopaedic care with us.

As with other top centers of orthopaedic medicine, wherever possible we employ specialized and minimally invasive surgical techniques that allow for smaller incision sites, less tissue disruption, less discomfort and faster healing. We provide comprehensive orthopaedic services including total joint surgeries, arthroscopic shoulder, knee and ankle procedures and specialized treatment for sport injuries and arthritis of the shoulders, knees and hips.

Our orthopaedic-trained physical therapists employ a research-driven approach to readying you for surgery and getting you back to good health and enhanced movement as quickly as possible afterwards.

Orthopedic Services

At Advanced Orthopedics within Pioneers Medical Center in Meeker, our team restores movement, strength and function through accurate diagnoses and treatment. There’s usually more than one way to treat your concern. Sometimes simply strengthening or re-engaging weak muscles through physical therapy is all it takes to feel better. Other times you can find relief through medication and various pain control methods. When disease or injury is advanced, surgery is a proven, effective solution.

Besides our specialty in total joint surgeries, we offer a variety of minor surgical solutions including arthroscopy, which allows us to view the area with a special camera to diagnose and event treat. With injury, we can also fuse or fixate broken bones with pins, plates or screws to aid healing. Our providers also specialize in sports medicine, offering a variety of solutions for sports-related injuries including ACL repair, shoulder displacement, torn muscles & ligaments and more.

Whatever your need we’ll start by getting to know you, examining the area in question and running diagnostic tests to get a full picture. Then, we’ll discuss your treatment options and help you select the solution—or combination of solutions—that work best for you.

We use our knees for many sports and daily activities. With overuse, injury or arthritis, our knee joints wear out. Pain that interferes with activities of daily living means you need relief. We can help with non-operative treatments including anti-inflammatory medications, glucosamine and chrondroitin sulfate supplements, pain medication, assistive devices for walking, physical therapy, cortisone injjections, plasma injections, viscosupplementation injections and weight loss. If these fail, knee replacement surgery, called arthroplasty, is often the next step. During surgery, our skilled surgeon removes damaged bone and cartilage and replaces it with an artificial joint that mimics your knee’s natural ability to glide as you bend. We use the latest materials to provide the most comfort and success, and Dr. Borchard employs the subvastus approach for knee replacement, a leading, minially-invasive option.

Hip surgery is a common and successful solution for people suffering from pain and stiffness due to arthritis or injury in the hip. Before surgery, our first approach is to gain relief through non-operative measures including physical therapy and various pain control methods. When surgery is needed, we offer a minimally invasive approach for total joint replacement of the hip and hip revision replacement surgery.

When it comes to shoulder surgery, arthritis or injury are often involved. Through sports, rotator cuffs can get injured and need repair. The rotator cuff is a ball of muscles and tendoms that form a cuff over the shoulder joint to hold the arm in place. Tears, injuries and impingements can be painful. When non-surgical solutions no longer bring relief, arthroscopy or a shoulder scope can be used to both diagnose and treat. Arthroplasty, or total joint replacement, may be needed.
